It’s pretty hard to make people sit up and take notice of superannuation. It’s something that we all need but often forgotten about, particularly by women.

So I’ve been comparing it to something that is far more exciting and managed to find some fun similarities…

My top 12 reasons why Super is a lot like sex:

  1. You have to know what you’re doing to get the most out of it.
  2. It’s “time in”, not “timing”.
  3. Don’t react to what other people are saying about it, you just know it’s good.
  4. You can do things with it that you never thought possible.
  5. Once you start you wish you had started years ago.
  6. There’ll always be a lot of movement.
  7. When someone new is in charge there’ll always be some adjusting.
  8. The younger you are the more you should be doing. (Only those over 18 can play)
  9. The bigger the balance the better the returns.
  10. Be careful when you’re hedging.
  11. It takes two to tango, so seek advice.
  12. Multiple accounts aren’t good for anyone.
